Candle holders

  • The Benthall Pottery Company produced candlesticks and candle holders in several different shapes and glaze effects.

  • Tall candlesticks are often found in pairs; shorter candle holders with loop or ring handles usually occur singly.

  • The date range spans the lifetime of the company, and a unique pair is dated 1904.

  • The 1930s catalogue shows four styles of candlestick described as ‘Pillar’, ‘Low’, ‘Alladin’ (sic) and ‘Tall Handled’.
