‘Moon’ flask with barbotine-painted waterway scene of a barge moored at night, a bridge in the background, moonlight on the water, the reverse painted with three chrysanthemums.

This is one of a pair of barbotine-painted flasks, the companion flask painted with a windmill in a winter landscape by the same unnamed artist (see flask 1). 

A Craven Dunnill tile plaque in the Jackfield Tile Museum, Shropshire, has an identical waterway scene to that seen here by the same artist, and is initialled WD. The artist has not been identified.
